THE LCC COMMUNITY

LCC isn’t about chasing big IPs..It’s about celebrating authentic, locally unique expressions of creativity. That’s why, from the very beginning, we’ve organically attracted a diverse community—from pop culture enthusiasts to readers, writers, home-grown cosplayers, retro collectors, indie game developers, and queer creators. This has never been about performative marketing angles—it’s who we are.

LCC isn’t about big IPs or mass commercialism. It’s about the locally unique, genuine expressions. That’s why we’ve attracted everyone from pop culture fans to manga readers, homegrown cosplayers, retro collectors, writers, game developers, and queer creators from inception, not as a performative marketing message.

BUILT ON INCLUSIVITY

While English remains the primary language, our community is rapidly expanding to include speakers of Sinhala and Tamil, with growing multilingual participation across panels, content, and creator spaces.

From our tri-lingual logo and multilingual programming to our zero-tolerance policy on harassment, this commitment is a key reason a rising number of Gen Z youth are shaping Sri Lanka’s geek culture—finding belonging, creative freedom, and a platform for individuality.

Today, geek culture is no longer niche—it’s a multi-billion dollar industry* that is growing, mainstream, and culturally relevant, driven by gaming, cosplay, storytelling, and self-expression.

* According to PwC, the geek industry and related interests such as gaming tech and hobbies is estimated to be USD 336bn by 2026.

ZERO TOLERANCE

By the geeks, for the geeks! Hate is not welcome. We refuse toxic culture, & have a ban list to prove it. This is our space. We have built it, we love it, and we protect those within it!

Private security will always be present, monitoring the venue for the duration of the event!
